Representatives from Spectrum for Living (“SFL”) had the pleasure of meeting today with Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (D. – 37th District, Bergen County). At that time, we shared with him the scope and breadth of services that SFL offers its adult disabled clients at more than 29 of our specialized facilities located throughout the State of New Jersey.

We also shared with the Assemblyman our concern regarding the lack of a direct service provider wage increase for the past nine years; our concerns with the new state-mandated fee-for-service system; and our concern regarding the impact that the shortage of support coordinators at support coordination agencies has on the process of transitioning adult disabled clients to fee-for-service. Assemblyman Johnson listened and shared with us some suggestions as to what he will do to address our concerns.

We are most thankful to Assemblyman Johnson and his Chief of Staff, Scott Devlin, for hosting our visit.
